Solar Thermal Panels
Solar thermal panels are a great technology to install alongside virtually any heating and hot water system. There are many applications for solar thermal such as heating all the hot water you require when the sun is shining or to help heat a swimming pool. Compared to PV panels (that create electricity) a solar thermal panel is much more efficient for the area it occupies, so, no need to fill the entire roof or garden!

What Solar Thermal System Do I Need?
The size and type of solar thermal installation required depends on numerous calculations relating to; home energy efficiency, the property layout, the number of occupants and their lifestyles. South facing is best for solar collection, if east or west facing is the only option then the solar yield will be greatly reduced.

Solar Thermal Panel ArrayA three panel system such as this will provide enough hot water in summer for a family of 4 (when the sun is shining) | Large Solar Thermal ArraysSolar Thermal panels will heat water where it's needed, whatever the size of project, even a swimming pool | In Roof Solar Thermal InstallationSolar thermal panels can be installed 'in roof' so it looks more like a skylight window. |

On Roof Solar Thermal InstallationSolar Thermal Panels can be installed 'on roof' so the roof covering is not disturbed | A Frame Solar Thermal InstallationNo sloping roof? not a problem as solar thermal panels can be installed on 'A frames'. | Solar Thermal with a Thermal StoreSolar thermal can be integrated into most heating and hot water systems via thermal store technology |
